Star Wars: Children of the Force

Episode 7: One Man's Trash

Synopsis
As Sig goes to retrieve Mable, he finds her engaged in “heated negotiations” with the local Hutt crime lord. Mable blatantly uses her Force Powers to shock several Gamorrean guards and bind the Hutt’s majordomo. Though she is successful in retrieving the information she causes quite the scene. The Hutt, of course would report nothing, not wanting to incriminate himself, but unbeknownst to Sig and Mable, Zhak Simmdrel sees the event.

Knowing that Mable’s blatant force use could attract the attention of Inquisitors, Sig decides to retrieve his lightsaber, and so the party travels to the Transit Depot where he stashed it. When they reach his locker, they find the locks changed and (after trivially picking the locks) the contents of the locker different.

They go the storage manager, who says that Sig has not paid his locker fees, and therefore his locker was cleared. If he wants to find it, he must pay a fee and go to lost and found. After paying the fee, they reach lost and found only to discover that the contents of his locker have been thrown away on the planet of Raxas prime. After a tense moment of trying to clear the search flag from the lost and found terminal, the party sets off for Raxas prime.

On Raxas prime, Mable insists on using this as a training moment for Lucky, advising her to attempt to seek out the lightsaber with her force abilities. Lucky has a great difficulty, but
as they search, they find a lost battle droid — MDK-187. Shade reactivates him, only to discover that due to his damaged power core, he has been reset to factory default. Setting himself up as the Authorized User, Shade sets about repairing the droid, who he names Clink.

Lucky, frustrated with her inability to seek out the lightsaber decides to attempt to simply see herself finding it in the future. To her surprise, it works. She sees the lightsaber in some kind of shop and she and her companions fleeing from two battle droids.

Returning to the ship, the party searches out the shop in Lucky’s vision, leading them to Rico’s customs. Shade and Sig, along with Clink go to case the shop. As Shade talks to Rico about gear modding, Mikael and Shade’s droid Spotty search for the lightsaber, finding it in a secure case.

Eventually, Shade decides to meet up with Rico later, after purchasing a new power core for Clink, and in doing so, gives Sig some time to infiltrate the shop and steal back his lightsaber. He sets up Clink’s old power core to act as a short term EMP to disable the security systems, and hopefully give Sig the edge he needs.

While Sig gets inside the Shop with little trouble, he finds that the EMP has not knocked out power to the case, making it difficult for him to retrieve the lightsaber. Finally, he decides to simply activate the lightsaber, boring a hole in the case. This succeeds, but has the unfortunate effect of shattering half the side of the case, making it impossible to hide what they have done. As Sig hears the power beginning to whir back on, he decides that a smash and grab is good enough and leaves with the lightsaber before he can be caught by the security systems.

Back on the Ship, the party decides to wait around a few days before leaving, as fleeing will surely look suspicious. However, after a day passes, they are contacted by a panicked Rico, who asks for Shade’s help. In the background, the distinctive sound of Lightsabers is heard.

Episode 6: Trade

Opening Scroll

THE BLACK MARKET, an illicit hub of trade hidden in every port, full of dangers, but also of opportunity. As our heroes seek to offload their ill gotten gains, will they find more than money awaiting them?

Synopsis

In need of funds and supplies, our heroes decide to sell the "salvaged" pirate gear at a nearby spaceport.

While Lucky searches for buyers, Mikael and Shade look for a replacement for Mikael's medical backpack, destroyed by the security droids. They find one in the custody of Flann Omac, but in order to get it at a discounted price, Mikael agrees to help heal some of his men, who were hurt in a "trade dispute."

Mikael manages to heal most of them, but finds one of the men particularly challenging—he has severe burns on his leg that won't heal. Shade helps him identify the cause and realizes that his wounds were caused by a modified flame projector, one which uses metallic fuel, which is now caught in the wound. Resolved to help the man, Mikael seeks out an industrial solvent which will be able to remove the melted metal from the man's leg, hopefully leaving the tissue intact.

Meanwhile, Lucky, using her knowledge of the seedier side of society, finds a place to offload the gear. Locating Zhak Simmdrel, who seems quite in need of merchandise, she has little trouble selling the salvaged pirate gear. As Zhak's men go to offload the gear from The Night Wind, he notices that her ship is damaged, and recommends she go to a mechanic to help her repair the hull.

As this happens, Mikael is visiting the very same Mechanic, in hopes of receiving the solvent. There he finds a medical droid, tragically misassigned to ship repair. As Shade manages to save the ship from disaster, Mikael offers to take the droid of its owner's hands. The owner agrees and also agrees to give Mikael the small ammout of solvent he needs to heal the injured man's leg.

On the way back to Flann's men, Mikael removes the droid's restraining bolt, hoping to earn its trust. Though, due past harsh treatment, it doesn't trust him yet, it seems more than willing to help. With the help of his new medical backpack and his droid ally, Mikael is able to heal the man's leg, and prevent further tissue damage.

Shortly after Mikael's departure from the motor pool, Lucky arrives and meets Kiz'Bren the Mechanic. Though the damage to her ship's outer hull is extensive, he notes that the Durasteel armor protected the inner systems from much of the Concussion missiles harm, and he can repair it for a much lower cost (in both money and time).

Now with access to the money from the pirate gear, Mikael decides to offload his imperial equipment and resupply with something less conspicuous, Shade agrees to come along, hoping he can find even more explosive gear. In seeking out buyers, he gets in contact with Zhak Simmdrel, who is very interested in buying any kind of weapons supplies, due to a recent trade dispute.

However, he doesn't have any of equipment Mikael or Shade need… at least not on him. He offers them a chance to obtain that gear for free, provided they can "acquire" a shipment of gear he failed to get from Flann Omac. Mikael and Shade agree, but hatch a plan to simply purchase the gear and sell it back a higher price, avoiding violence all together.

With her ship set to be fixed, Lucky decides to take what's left of her remaining funds and finish purchasing mods for her guns, as it looks like danger will be on the horizon. On her way there, she senses a presence following her, but as it doesn't seem hostile, she decides to leave it be for now.

In seeking a supplier for her gun mods, she meets Flann Omac. He just happens to have the item she needs in stock. They begin to negotiate over price, and that's where fate intervenes. As Lucky examines the merchandise, her hololocket, with a picture of her family, slips from her vest and into view. Seeing that, Flann gives Lucky an uncharacteristicly low price, saying "Of course, anything for Gavin Linai's daughter."

Unfortounately, both groups arrive back at the ship to finalize negotiations. Flann and Zhak both believe that they have been set up, and it quickly turns into a fire fight. Lucky attempts to intervene, but her attempts only draw fire. Zhak's men fire the first shots, grazing Lucky and setting Sig (who promptly disappears) on fire.

Mikael, setting aside his weapon, succeeds in talking Flann down, but Zhak takes that opprotunity to shoot Flann, injuring him. Shade, no longer feeling the need to restrain himself, shoots at Zhak's men, causing the modified Flame Projector to explode in the blast and severely injuring Zhak.

Mikael examines both men, and finds that they will both live. After a tense moment, Flann proclames Zhak fortunate and suggests that he compensate the party for their trouble. Zhak, in a position of weakness, reluctantly agrees, however, his hostility is obvious.

With that, the party has enough funds to purchase equipment and repair their ship and the trade dispute is settled, at least temporarily.

Opening Scroll

Peace. Order. Stability. The IMPERIAL MILITARY promises to bring all this to the galaxy if only it were to yield.

A chance to change everything for better is an appealing prospect for a young soldier on THE OUTER RIM. But as he is about to discover, there is more to the GALACTIC EMPIRE’s Promise than meets the eye.

Synopsis

Mikael, a Chiss medic and soldier in the Imperial Navy witnesses the carnage at the battle of Lasan. Hoping to save as many lives as he can, he convinces his superiors to allow him to treat their disputer wounds. Though he saves some, he cannot protect the Lasat from imperial slavery, but does manage to get them less grueling assignments.

Years later, he finds himself assigned to a backwater planet, where the Imperial Garrison is soon leaving. Spending more and more time treating the local colonists, and less and less time on the base he sees his privileges slowly being revoked. Eventually, he is offered an honorable discharge, though perhaps only so that he will stay out of the base.

While requesting medical supplies to treat the townsfolk who have been repeatedly attacked by a rabid Swampa, he discovers an imperial plot to create a biophage which would wipe out all life on the planet.

Realizing what this discovery means, he meets up with Shade, a Chadra-Fan who has been a thorn in the Empire's side for quite a while. The two resolve to sabotage the biophage by swapping out a key ingredient with a similar looking but chemically different substance, rendering it harmless.

In order to do so, the two, accompanied by one of the colonists, a Bothan Scout, journey into the swamp to gather the ingredient. There they are ambushed by the rabid Swampa. Though it is a difficult fight, the three manage to kill the Swampa, helping keep the village safe from its rampages.

With the ingredients gathered, Mikeael returns to the base under the pretext of requesting a Bacta tank. While he distracts the Imperials, Shade swaps the ingredients. As the two leave with the Bacta tank, Shade notices that the imperials have left a parting gift—a Thermal Detonator on their speeder.

Luckily, Shade, a skilled mechanic, disarms the thermal, helping his friends survive and gaining a valuable weapon.

Episode 2: Casino Heist

Opening Scroll

THE JEDI KNIGHTS, once a proud order of galactic peacekeepers, now fallen. Most have lost their lives to the crushing fist of THE GALACTIC EMPIRE, but some remain in hiding.

One such individual now hides as an agent of the HUTTS, sent to investigate the status of one young Hutt, long missing and presumed dead. But what perhaps he will find far more.

Synopsis

Mable goes to check on her baby Hutt, only to find a strange Nikto leaning over his crib. Restraining the man with her force powers, she demands to know who he is.

He introduces himself as "Sigma-97", sent to discern the status of the infant and nothing more. Mable attempts to detain him in the ship's hold, but he is eventually freed.

Reluctantly deciding to work together, the three seek out the Hutt family, parents of the Hutt child's mother and Mable's former partner, who had been providing Mable with credits and supplies.

They say that they cannot offer any resources, as to do so would alert the baby's father's family (and his enemies) that the child is alive (which would put him, and our heroes at great risk). However, they do know of a Casino owned by rather shady sources, which could potentially provide some resources to certain crafty individuals.

One scene-skip later, Sigma-97 finds himself running from Casino security and carrying a briefcase full of Casino chips. With Lucky's aid, and Mable's force powers, he manages to escape, leaving one angry Barabel Enforcer behind.

Back on the ship and across the planet, Sig begins to test Lucky for force sensitivity. First attempting to hide from her and then throwing forks at her to test her perception, he discovers, to both their surprise, that she is Force Sensitive. After a grueling 8 hours of staring at a cup of Space Ramen, Lucky moves something with the force, giving her incontrovertible proof of its  existance.
